During the later Middle Ages, probably in the 15th century, the original stone church was replaced by a much wider building, the southern and northern extension walls of which are part of the current church. The sacristy that was added at that time (extended to the north in 1729) has also been preserved with remains of frescoes from the second half of the 15th century.
