This is a magnificent specimen of giant sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum (Lindley)), located about 50 m northeast of Sant Julià de Cabrera.
A few years ago, he was struck by lightning which caused his escape. It sprouted again and is now in good vital condition.
It is considered a cultural heritage asset to be protected.
The giant redwoods are native to the Sierra Nevada, California.
