This chapel, located in the Kaiser Mountains between Kufstein and Ebbs, is dedicated to Saint Joseph, the foster father of Jesus Christ. Like Zacharias, the father of John the Baptist, he is a man on the threshold of the Old and New Testaments. Joseph came from the House of David, one of the twelve tribes of Israel. He was a carpenter by trade and the fiancé of the Mother of God, Mary.
The feast day of Saint Joseph in the calendar of saints is March 19th, and the church also celebrates the feast of "Joseph the Worker" on May 1st.
