Along the Laarer Bach we drive in an easterly direction to Born. Around 1920 the Schwalm was straightened and dyked to drain meadows and fields. In 1976 the Schwalm was restored to its original condition. River bends with islands and pollarded willows were created between Brüggen and Born.
