The Old Fall River Road was opened in 1920 and back then it was the only road leading up into the Rocky Mountain Nationalpark's highland. Today it's only one way – uphill – both for cyclists and cars. The road is a well maintained gravel road and more 'natural' than the also well known Trail Ridge Road.
