Alahärmä Church is located in Kauhava, Alahärmä in South Ostrobothnia. It is a grey stone church designed by Josef Stenbäck, combining neo-Gothic and national romanticism. The church was built between 1901 and 1903 on the site of a wooden church built by Antti Hakola, which burnt down in 1898 when the roof was tarred. The building material was grey gneiss quarried locally. The church seats 1 000 people and originally had 20-voice Zachariassen organs from 1904, although these were rebuilt to 22 voices in 1976. The altarpiece depicting Christ in Gethsemane was painted by Alexandra Frosterus-Såltin.The Alahärmä church was voted the most beautiful church in Finland by Radio Dei in 2015.
