The photos don't show Neubrandenburg, but Demminer Tor!
The Demminer Tor in Altentreptow is a Gothic city gate and one of originally three gates of the city wall that surrounded the city. The city wall of Altentreptow with its three city gates was built around 1450. The city wall and the supplementary wall were gradually removed after the Thirty Years' War.
The mill gate was demolished in 1844 and the granary of the Tollense mill was built on it. The southern Brandenburg Gate and the Demminer Tor were preserved. This older late Gothic gate with its pointed arch was built in the north-east on the road to Demmin. It was originally a gate tower like the Brandenburg Gate. However, the taller tower was demolished. In the second half of the 19th century, the appearance was significantly changed during a renovation and the two tower-like attachments and the upper parapet over the gateway were made of bricks.
