The castle Fronhofen, also called Roman Tower, is a partially preserved medieval residential tower in Fronhofen (district of Fronreute) in the district of Ravensburg in Baden-Württemberg.

From around 1100 built plant is a roughly 18 -meter-high stump of the tower obtained.

The originally resident nobility appears first documented in 1171 with Mengoz de Fronhove. Members of the sex were Ministeriale the Hohenstaufen and later the Holy Roman Empire. The brothers Eberhard and Berthold von Fronhofen called themselves in 1209 ministerialis regis. A younger Eberhard ("frater domini Bertholdi de Fronhoven") was then called from 1251 Eberhardus de Kunigsegge (after the same castle Königsegg) and founded the still flourishing noble family of the Counts of Königsegg.

The later owners were the ministerial family of Stuben.

There is not much left, but the tower is visible from afar with its waving flag and aroused my curiosity
