A small park (Messepark) next to the Transport Museum on Theresienhöhe. A bicycle path connects Theresienhöhe behind the Bavaria statue to Ganghoferstraße. The Bavariapark was originally called Theresienhain. It was planted with oak trees by the court gardener Seitz between 1825 and 1831 by King Ludwig I outside Munich's city gates. After the Bavaria statue was unveiled in 1850, the park received its current name: Bavariapark. It has been open to the public since 1872. Walking paths wind through the park.

In 1908, Gabriel von Seidl redesigned the park.
