Hiking
Deciduous and coniferous forests that have been created since 1944 in a part of the Noordoostpolder that is less suitable for agriculture because of the peat, boulder clay and coarse sand in the soil here. The forest area is rich in mushrooms and birds, including nuthatch and lesser spotted woodpecker. There are various recreational facilities in the Voorsterbos: playgrounds, nature trail and nature camping site De Stiente.
