The historic Schrauthammerbrunnen on the main square of Wiener Neustadt dates back to a donation by the merchant Hans Schrauthammer from the early 17th century. After the original had fallen into disrepair and been dismantled in the 19th century, the gem could be reconstructed based on old records and solemnly unveiled in 1936 at its current location. Meanwhile, the well-preserved monument even serves again as one of the city's official public drinking fountains.

The Schrauthammer fountain, rebuilt in 1936, is a reconstruction of a fountain that was originally donated by diesm in 1609 between Grätzel and the town hall in front of the house of Hans Schrauthammer (Hauptplatz 30) after a fire.
