The Ouderkerkerplas is a quarry pond in the Dutch municipality of Ouder-Amstel, south-east of the town of Ouderkerk aan de Amstel and south-west of the Zuidoost district of Amsterdam. The lake was created in the 1960s in what was then the Holendrecht and Bullewijk polders to extract sand that was needed for the construction of the Rijksweg A9 motorway route.Today the lake is part of the local recreation area Groengebied Amstelland. The Ouderkerkerplas is used for swimming, surfing and diving. Along the shore, in addition to the beach and the Ouderkerkerplas water sports club (WVOP), there are numerous footpaths and cycle paths, as well as a bridle path, barbecue areas, picnic areas and playgrounds.
