Cycling
A visit is particularly worthwhile if there is an interest in astronomy. In the Karlsaue there is the Planet Trail, but in the Orangerie there is a wonderful collection of historical astronomical measuring and observation instruments. In the foyer, a Foucault pendulum can be observed and upstairs there is a very beautiful planetarium. But it is also a very beautiful place overall.

The Orangerie in Kassel was built between 1703 and 1711 below or about 400 meters south of the former city palace near the western bank of the Fulda under Landgrave Charles. Since then, it has formed the northern beginning of the Karlsaue.
On the grounds of the present-day Orangerie Palace and the Hessenkampfbahn in front of it, a walled palace garden was laid out in 1568 by Wilhelm IV, with a small pleasure palace at the southern end. His successor, Landgrave Maurice, redesigned the garden at the beginning of the 17th century.
