The tower has 8 floors with a total of almost 160 steps. If you have managed to stand on a platform with a panoramic view and information board in the direction of the Alps. On a clear day you can see all the way to Lake Constance and Switzerland.
Inside the tower, on the 1st and 2nd floor, there are benches and tables for sheltering in bad weather.
Outside there are several benches and tables for resting and a playground for children.

On the Schwarzer Grat, the pre-alpine mountain range of the Adelegg reaches the highest point in Württemberg at 1,118 metres. The first observation tower was built on the Schwarzer Grat in 1878. 156 steps lead to the current observation platform at a height of 28 metres and offer a view of Lake Constance, the Nagelfluh and the Alps.
