The Monument to the Battle of the Nations, a Gothic turret, stands on a small hill behind the health clinic. In memory of the Battle of the Nations that took place outside the city of Leipzig in October 1813. During the Wars of Liberation (1813-1815) it led to Napoleon's defeat by the troops of Russia, Austria, Prussia and Sweden. Germans fought on both sides in the battle, considered the largest in history until World War I. With the retreat of Napoleon, French rule (French era) ended over large parts of Germany.
