One of the many half-timbered houses in Alsfeld. However, this one particularly stands out because it has been lovingly restored and prepared.

The Neurathaus shows that not only are there numerous, beautiful half-timbered houses around the Alsfeld market square, but that a detour into the side street is absolutely worth it...🤗

The Neurathhaus is a magnificent town house that was built on behalf of Constantin Neurath in 1688. The house is on the narrow Rittergasse and has four floors with a gable in the roof. The building consists of two parts divided by the gate entrance. The ground floor and the first floor are made of continuous corner and collar posts. Above the gateway is a mezzanine, which is followed by the raising of the upper floors. The half-timbered construction is provided with many decorative elements. Particularly striking are the paneling with diamond-shaped recesses below the windows and the panel paintings on the side facing Neurathgasse with depictions from the story of creation.
The inscription “Soli Deo Gloria! If God is for us, who can be us again? Glory to God alone Constantinus Neurath Juliana GeBohrne von Storndorff Anno Dommini 1688”. On the back barn from 1687 is written "CUM DEO AEDIFICAVIT CONSTANTINUS NEURATH DIE V APRILIS ANNO SALUTIS NOSTRAE MDCLXXXVII"
The magnificent portal is framed by two columns with capitals. The door panels are decorated with angel heads and mascarons.de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neurathhaus
