The Zollenspieker ferry operates on the Elbe between the Zollenspieker piers in Hamburg-Kirchwerder and Hoopte (Winsen (Luhe)) on the Lower Saxony side.

The current Zollenspieker ferry connection – formerly known as the Eyslinger ferry – has existed since 1252. The name Zollenspieker, then still known as Yslinge, is derived from the customs warehouse, which was built on the Kirchwerder side at a point where the Elbe bends, as from here the Elbe and its own banks are clearly visible in all directions.

The Eyslingen customs post was militarily secured by the Riepenburg, a lowland castle probably built in the 13th century. Customs duties were collected at this location until 1806,
that is, until the conquest of the surrounding area by Napoleon I.
The Zollenspieker is located at river kilometer 598 and also marks the southernmost point of the Hanseatic City of Hamburg.

The Zollenspieker–Hoopte ferry connection is the last existing car ferry in Hamburg.

Hoopter Möwe II and Spieker Möwe
        The double-ended ferries
Hoopter Möwe II and Spieker Möwe are used on the route between Zollenspieker and Hoopte. Due to its 36 m long lane and the resulting higher vehicle capacity of 26 cars, the Hoopter Möwe II is the larger of the two ferries and is therefore used more frequently.
Only during very low traffic – for example, shortly before the winter break – does the Spieker Möwe occasionally operate, and also as an additional ferry in the summer months to support the Hoopter Möwe II. The ferry was in service with the Weser ferry Brake–Sandstedt until the beginning of 2004 as the Golzwarden and was sold and transferred to Zollenspieker in November 2004.

The Spieker Möwe was built in 1958 at the Clausen shipyard in Oberwinter am Rhein and used on the Mannheim-Rheinau–Altrip ferry until 1992.

The ferry underwent a conversion at the "Schmidt" Hoopte shipyard in 1992.
The total length of this double-ended ferry is 35.04 m, the carriageway measures 21.92 m, and it can accommodate approximately 14 cars, making it significantly smaller than the Hoopter Möwe II. The Spieker Möwe is licensed for 300 people, 100 more than the larger ferry.
