    Hollenstein

"Morsbach - A thick chunk of quartz rock in the middle of the forest, that's how it lies there today. Almost overgrown, surrounded by tall trees, you can only see it today when you're almost standing in front of it. Actually, if you take it very seriously, that's where it is “Hollenstein" is no longer in the Oberbergisches Land, but just behind it, in the area of the municipality of Friesenhagen. Nevertheless, many Morsbachers speak of “their” Hollenstein.
Attraction point is this at approx. 406 m above sea level. The rock located NN was not only due to its explicit location, but it was also assumed that it was used in ancient times, although this could not be conclusively proven. What is certain, however, is that the 3 hiking trails that intersect here in front of the stone are known as the “Hexentanzplatz”. “Am Holenstein” was already mentioned in the Mercator map in 1575.
In the 20th and 30th years of the last century, the “Hollenstein” was also a popular excursion destination with a viewing point. In order to be able to see more safely into the distance, a railing with wooden seats had even been built on top of the stone so that the hikers could enjoy a beautiful panoramic view over the vast Oberbergisches mountains as far as the Siebengebirge while taking a break. This view and the railing have long since disappeared.
You can still climb the stone today, but the distant view is unfortunately obscured by the tall trees around it.
If you still want to stand on the “Hexentanzplatz” and take a look at the stone, you can park your car above Morsbach-Halle, at the very top of the mountain and then walk along the forest path that branches off there, which then goes slightly uphill . At the next intersection keep right and then immediately turn left down the next path. Then just follow the path for about 500 m and you'll walk straight towards the stone."
