A stone cross in front of the beeches, which the Siegburg stonemason Karl-Josef and his wife Margret Schneider had erected there in 1998, indicates the religious significance of the beeches. On the cross you can read: “Our paths have many directions but only one goal”. A labyrinth is carved on the base of the cross symbolically for this saying. The beeches probably invited pilgrims on their way from Cologne to the Rochus Chapel in Seligenthal for a shady rest.

Well drivable route with MTB, Gravel or Crosser. It was less fun for me with the racing bike, as there were a few kilometers of gravel and loose ground. The place is very nice, however, and the bench under the trees by the lake invites everyone to linger.

nice quiet spot in the forest to rest ... to reach with good RR tires or Crosser. (no tar trail!)
