A memorial to the victims of the raid was unveiled by Queen Juliana on 1 October 1949. The monument consists of a memorial court, designed by Prof. Bijhouwer, and a sandstone statue of Mari Andriessen (the "grieving widow", popularly called "het Vrouwtje van Putten"). It depicts a grieving woman in traditional costume with a handkerchief in her hand. She looks in the direction of the Oude Kerk, from where the men were taken away. The memorial court is included in the Top 100 Dutch monuments 1940-1958
