The village was established after the 1877-1878 Ottoman-Russian War. This war is also called the 93 War. Some of the first founders of the neighborhood migrated from the Bahçesaray Region of Crimea, some from the Balkans and the Kalgirova neighborhood of the Bulgarian town of Tarnova and settled in the area called Ayazma behind the current primary school. The first name of the neighborhood was given as Yeşilyurt by Ahmet Ağa, but it was changed to Çukuryurt due to its geographical location and after the proclamation of the Republic. The first families settled in the neighborhood were Ahmet Aghas, Veterans, Karahasanlar, Mollahmets, Varnas, Colaks, Masullus, Bakircalis, Mergers, Kabakcilar, Tacetler, Kostaks, Ranger Omers, Mullahs, Paçacilar, Tubans, Davut Aghas, Mahmut Aghas, Ibişler, Hamisogullari, Littles, Kadis are the dynasties of Carpenter Ahmetler.[1]
