One of two palaces built in early C20 by the Polish-German industrialist Karol Wilhelm Scheibler from the so-called "Kings of Cotton" family who at the turn of C19/C20 owned many mills in Łódź. The other older building (Altes Schloss) was apparently destroyed by the Red Army who occupied the estate after WWII. During the war the New Palace (Neues Schloss) hosted a SA (the Sturmabteilung Nazi paramilitaries) training camp as period photos attest. Spared by the Russians it nonetheless was plundered and partially burned in the 1950s and 60s. In private hands since 1994 it's fenced off and unaccessible. It's surrounded by lovely 12ha park inhabited (according to some reports) by a herd of fallow deers.
