Den Halder Castle is located directly on the Geul. It is a fortified residential tower that used to stand on the medieval city wall. The tower's origins date back to the 14th century, when Dirk IV van Valkenburg began rebuilding the city walls.
It was later converted into a residential tower, which meant an increase. Part of the original property is now used as a city park.
