The nose stone in the Rickbachtal is a very special whim of nature. The stone's shape is unmistakably a rough face, and it's positioned just right to show it off at its best. The painting makes this even clearer. Like all other boulders, the nose stone came to the Extertal around 200,000 years ago with the Ice Age. How it got its special shape remains a mystery, because all boulders are normally ground round. Children like to climb on it and it is very popular as a photo motif.
