The old woman in the Isenburg (legend)
Years ago, a girl worked in what is now MEHLHORN's estate next to the parish in Wildbach. One morning an old woman came to this girl, who asked him to go with her. She then led it between the ruined walls of the castle and here into a room that had been hidden until then, whose door; locked it again. Then she asked the girl to sweep her room. When this happened, she gave him 2 groschen as a reward. This was repeated many times. And every time the girl swept out the woman's living room, she received 2 groschen.
Then it happened that the girl once went to the fair in Schneeberg. In their absence, the farmer's wife, who had long since noticed that her maid had more money than she was paid, opened the door; their drawer and found in it a large number of penny pieces. When the girl came home again in the evening, she told the story of how all the money had come about. From that time on, however, the old woman from Isenburg never appeared to him again.
