The Clemenskirche in the Westphalian city of Münster is a monastery and hospital church built between 1745 and 1753 for the Brothers of Mercy according to plans by Johann Conrad Schlaun. The monastery was dissolved in 1811.

During the air raids on Münster during the Second World War on September 30, 1944, Clemens Church and Clemens Hospital were destroyed except for the surrounding walls. The exterior of the Clemenskirche was rebuilt between 1956 and 1959.

After initial plans for an abstract, modern redesign of the interior, it was reconstructed from 1961 to 1974, including the dome fresco, thus regaining the lost spatial impression. The reconstruction of the dome painting was carried out by Paul Reckendorfer from Vienna, the sculptural work by Siegfried Springer.

This church was built in the middle of the 18th century. The sacred building is another building that goes back to plans by the architect Johann Conrad Schlaun, who was very important for Münster.

The Clemenskirche is centrally located in the city center of Münster, but is not necessarily easy to find for those unfamiliar with the area. This is because the relatively small church is a little hidden between Salzstrasse and Clemensstrasse. However, anyone who takes the small side roads between these main streets will be rewarded. The Clemenskirche is characterized by its baroque architecture and offers a spectacle of colors and shapes inside that is unparalleled.
