The fountain's nine watercourses symbolize the nine brine springs that have been developed in and around Bad Soden over the years. After the well-known Barbarossquelle on Brückenstr. Numerous other sources were drilled, especially in the 19th century. Most recently, in the 20th century, more precisely in 1970, the new drinking water was added, which still feeds the Spessart thermal baths to this day.
