The Christmas fortress is located to the right of the port of Cartagena to the west, it protected the entrance to the port by crossing its fires with the batteries of Santa Ana and Trincabotijas , built in neoclassical style with casemates for the installation of eight pieces of artillery on the ground floor and a further eight barbettes upstairs. This fortress now houses a museum and can be visited.
