The Municipal Park of Elche stands out for its imposing palm trees, a corner of peace in the heart of the city center and surrounded in turn by extensive plantations that make up the largest palm grove in Europe.

The Parque Municipal is approximately 6 hectares in size, making it the largest public park in Elche. Here you will find many palm trees of different types, which already indicate that Elche is undeniably linked to its palm trees. The park also contains other tree species, as well as fountains, monuments, sculptures and typical country houses.
Be sure to take a stroll if you're in the area.

The city park is not only a space for fun and relaxation, but is also a real plant lung in the heart of the city. The park is largely located along the river and mainly contains many palm trees, the symbol of Elche.
The six hectares include the "huertos" Colomer, Real, Mare de Déu and Baix. Most of this area was bequeathed in 1661 by the then owner, Nicolás Caro, to the patron saint of the city, the Virgen de la Asunción, by way of a will.
The conservation and maintenance of the park is in the hands of the municipality. It was the first public garden to be created in the city in 1946, with an initial area of 20,000 square meters.
