    You are at the very place of the Sand Creek massacre, where a peaceful Cheyenne and Arapaho village led by Chief Black Kettle was attacked on November 29 1864 by Colonel Chivington and his militia. 200 men women and children have been killed that day.

    Every year, on that exact anniversary day, Northern Cheyenne from Lame Deer Montana, and Southern Arapahoes from Oklahoma are meeting here and start a healing run made of prayers that goes all the way to Denver.
