Carved out over millennia by the waters of the Rio Grande, Santa Elena Canyon is one of the more popular, and most spectacular, natural wonder of Big Bend National Park. Marking the dividing line between the US and Mexico, follow a short trail into the canyon for cool temperatures and the chance to take a refreshing dip in a scenic locale; the steep canyon walls reach to over 1,500 feet in some places.
