If you want to drive from Germany to Sweden by car, you have to cross the Baltic Sea several times. For a long time, the only way to get from Denmark to Sweden was by ferry. Since the year 2000 there has been a land connection across the Öresund between Copenhagen and Malmö: the Öresund Bridge. However, there is a toll to cross the bridge.
