Fort Henry VIII (Audinghen), the Fort Henry VIII, is a historic site on Cap Gris - Nez. You can clearly see the ditches and some remains of the wall. The fortress wall is only made of stone in the lower area, earth walls were built on top to better intercept the cannonballs.

A fort used to stand here. Some ditches and remains can still be seen. The information board explains a lot.

The Cape's proximity to England meant that the nearby village of Audinghen was frequently destroyed in wars between England and France. At the top of the cliff are the ruins of an English fort built by Henry VIII in the early 16th century.
