Where Neuaigen Castle is today, there was already a fortified complex that was probably built by Laurenz Freiherr von Hofkirchen. Hofkirchen was enfeoffed in 1494 by the Roman-German King Maximilian I. After the destruction in the Thirty Years' War, Georg Andre Freiherr von Hofkirchen (1562-1623) erected a new building.

Neuaigen Castle is a castle on the through road on the western outskirts of the village of Neuaigen in the municipality of Tulln an der Donau in Lower Austria. The late-Renaissance chateau is under monument protection.

The previous building was built by Laurenz Freiherr von Hofkirchen at the end of the 15th century. The new building was probably carried out in the early 17th century by Georg Andre von Hofkirchen. The goods and rule was confiscated in 1620 by Emperor Ferdinand II. From Johann Joachim Ehrenreuter as the owner, the castle went to Johann Peter Freiherr von Verdenberg in 1635, to Count Johann Ferdinand von Enkevoerth in 1685, and in 1746 through marriage to Counts Breuner-Enkevoerth. The long avenue in the axis of the main facade was laid out by Count von Zabor , the castle went to Prince Hans von Ratibor in 1894.

From 1945 to 1955 the castle was occupied by Russian soldiers. In 1955 the castle went to Franz Albrecht Duke of Metternich-Sandor.

      1970 was a restoration.
