Signs on site lead to the Eratic Block, or locally also known as the Lindenberg Erratic Boulder. The block is geologically very interesting, it comes from the Alps about 60 km away (Lichtenstein Alps) and was deposited here about 20,000 years ago. It is said to have been between 3-4,000m³. It was mined for decades for bridge building and lime burning.
