The Chapel of the Madonna di Monteserico, located on the esplanade of the ancient castle, is a small rural sanctuary linked to the local popular devotion. Once the hub of the village's religious life, it housed an image of the Virgin believed to be miraculous, and even today, Mass is celebrated there once a year in her honor.

A few hundred steps from the drawbridge, on the Castle esplanade, stands a bare chapel where, once every Sunday, but now once a year, a priest from Genzano, since the disappearance of the village, comes to celebrate Holy Mass.

Around the humble sanctuary, on the single rough stone altar, there was a painting of the Annunciation, a canvas by an unknown artist but of no small artistic value. A few decades ago, it was replaced—no one knows by whom—with a painting of the kind sold for a few lire by street vendors.

The sacred image was and is considered miraculous and worshipped as the protector of the vast territory.

The chapel, with its barrel vault, is unremarkable; beneath a ramshackle confessional is a small trapdoor leading to the ossuary below.
