On the Umbriana hill, on the edge of the ancient nucleus of Almenno San Salvatore, the Convent of San Nicola and the Villa Vitalba Lurani Cernuschi rise, surrounded by centuries-old vineyards.

In the second half of the 1700s, the nobleman Paolo Defendo Vitalba, former owner of the villa, bought the convent and surrounding land at auction.
In 1830 the villa was renovated by the architect Giacomo Bianconi. The property passed by inheritance to Clarina Barca, niece of Maria Candida Vitalba Barca, and in the second half of the 19th century, through the marriage of Clarina Barca with Agostino, to the family of the Counts Lurani Cernuschi.

The building faces the park with a large, asymmetrical tripartite facade.
Some rooms have frescoes in polychrome tones. Particularly interesting is a room with walls and ceilings decorated with exotic landscapes and animals painted by Quirino Salvatoni.

The park is furnished with statues attributed to the sculptor Pirovano. The villa and garden are available for receptions, concerts, exhibitions and other events.
