Small settlement with scattered nuclei arranged halfway up the slopes with gentler slopes and immersed in the chestnut and beech woods of Val Tarodine. It was originally composed of huts with stone walls and rye straw roofs connected to each other by means of mule tracks that facilitated movement. They are the testimony of the life of the past when families from Rovinaglia and Valdena moved to the mountains for the pastures. They worked hard to take care of the chestnut grove, they dedicated themselves to sheep farming, grazing cows, growing rye and potatoes and looking for mushrooms which were then marketed in Borgotaro. To date, most of them appear to be abandoned and lie in a state of ruin but there are also some renovations to make them accessible and habitable, which have made the characteristic roofing layers disappear in favor of more modern solutions such as roofs with flat tiles or sheet metal. . The huts can be reached along the CAI Path 845A which rejoins the Path 00 at the Passo dei Due Santi. The settlement is located in the area of passage of one of the historic streets of Emilia-Romagna, the Via dei Remi, which crosses the Apennines along paths and carriageways and connects Borgotaro to Levanto, in Liguria.
