It does not require any special equipment except sunscreen, sunglasses and suitable swimwear.
(As of 05/2018) - A parking lot is available free of charge directly at the entrance. Admission is relatively cheap at 80 pesos per adult. The facility is open from 08:00 - 17:00 clock, early appearance secures as always the best seats (say, there is hardly anyone there and the sun is not quite as strong). On the very well maintained complex is all the amenities (toilet, restaurants, changing rooms, shower) available. Changing and showering is included in the price, for a small fee you can rent a locker directly at the changing rooms. In the cenote itself is little space to chill, The entry area is actually only a small platform (stone) where you can decide - jump or ladder. We were in the Cenote at 10:00 am right after Chichen Itza, at that time everything was still quite relaxed. Towards 11:00 o'clock, successive tour busses arrived and in the cenote it gets really tight.
From a total of 6 visited cenotes, this was the most beautiful. Unfortunately it was busy at the time of our visit (early NM). Either come very early or late
