Every 10 years, the Floriade takes place in a different location in the Netherlands, most recently in Venlo in 2012. This garden exhibition is an expo supported by many countries. This year it is about greening buildings. On the one hand to keep the temperatures in the cities lower and on the other hand to grow vegetables and fruit. The greenhouse on a roof was reported in the German Pavilion. It has been on the roof of the job center in Altmarkt in Oberhausen since it was built in 2019.

In 2024, the old Floriade site looks a bit forlorn. The site is openly accessible, but because little to nothing has happened since the end of the Floriade, large parts of the site are quite neglected and look a bit sad, unfortunately. No longer the recommendation it once was to visit here.
