Mountain biking
The quarry is between Glashütten and Hirzenhain, west of the Scheidwald directly on the country road. Mining ended in the late 1960s. In the mid-1980s, the municipality of Hirzenhain planned a rubble and excavated landfill. In 1991, this plan was dropped because of a new waste law. The quarry was sold in 1993 and declared a nature reserve at the end of the 1990s.
