The old town hall forms a duo with the adjacent inn Oud Stadhuis. The inn was built in 1653 next to the Old Town Hall, on the site of a residential farm. The craft council used a large room in the building as a council chamber. This room was connected to the town hall by a door.

In 1904 there was a disagreement between the municipal authorities and the then owner, who then bricked up the door to the town hall. Until 2002 the building continued to serve as an inn and café, called Herberg Oud Stadhuis.

In one corner stands the bronze statue of Rietje Koane, the secret twin brother of Emperor Charles and a character from a saga.
