Like the version renewed in 2022, the original cross was kept simple and made of strong beams, without a body. A cross was carved into the beams. The roof is triangular. It was erected in 1985 by carpenters on the Walz. The cross commemorates a beloved wife and mother who died giving birth to her daughter. At this point, she and her husband enjoyed the wonderful view of the Ampertal.
