This arch, made mainly of marble, is one of the best preserved in Northern Italy and represents a symbol of Roman history in the region. An inscription on the structure says that it was commissioned by the Ligurian king Marco Iulius Cottius and recalls the 14 tribes that were part of his kingdom.
