The village church is a plastered hall building made of mixed masonry from the 14th or early 15th century with a rectangular west tower and a three-sided east end that was added later around 1480. The boarded tower top with a curved hood was added in 1737.A vestibule with a stepped gable made of yellow brick was added to the south in 1860, designed by Karl Friedrich Schinkel. A restoration of the church took place in 1964, in 1994 the porch was restored. The nave and chancel are illuminated by low lancet windows. In the porch, a late Gothic pointed arch portal with three tiered brick walls has been preserved. The interior is characterized by four merging, richly designed star vaults on pear ribs from the time the choir was built; the windows of the older long sides are arranged without relation to the vaulted bays. In the chancel there is a sacrament niche with a shrimp-studded eyelash frame, and a late-Gothic bricked-up portal built into the north wall. (de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dorfkirche_Basdorf)
