The Linner Linde (in the Aargauer vernacular d Lende vo Lenn) is a striking summer lime (Tilia platyphyllos), which stands near the town of Bözberg in the Swiss canton of Aargau near Linn. With a height of 25 meters and a trunk circumference of eleven meters, it is considered the most mighty tree of the Aargau. Legend has it that the linden tree was donated by one of the last surviving villagers to commemorate the plague. The plague raged in the village of Linn in the 16./17. Century particularly violent. However, the actual age of the lime tree is much higher, assuming around 800 years.
