This trail runs through the upper part of the Monachil River canyon, also known as the Los Cahorros Gorge. The view of the white roads winding through these arid mountains is spectacular. Also, if the day is clear, you can see the city of Granada and even the Alhambra.

There are numerous opportunities to extend your hike in this area. In contrast to the section in the gorge, you hardly meet other hikers, which I found very pleasant - but that was probably only because the gorge was completely overcrowded (including bathers) and you had to wait everywhere to be able to continue ( at all bottlenecks and of course at the suspension bridge). This area would certainly have been suitable as a filming location for a Karl May film. 😊When visibility is good you can catch glimpses of Granada. I found this hike a real highlight!!!
