Former Cistercian monastery of the Common Observance, female, located in the town of La Buenafuente del Sistal. It remains active with a small community. After many years of lethargy, it revived in 1971. It is a renewed center of spirituality.

This beautiful enclave is a true haven of peace. The monastery, founded in the 12th century by Alfonso VIII, still houses a community of nuns, and next to it, an inn has been located that invites one to recollection and inner search.
The landscape, spectacular, and the monastery itself, with its church that houses a fountain inside (they say that it has healing properties) deserves at least one stop on our trip, and, of course, replenishing the water in our canister.

The Monastery of Buenafuente del Sistal, of Cloistered Cistercian nuns, is a haven of Peace in the hustle and bustle of daily life. Taking advantage of its inn, you can spend a few days of peace there and away from the busy life of the cities. I highly recommend it to you. The landscapes are extraordinary.
