Altneuhaus was probably a side castle of Falkenberg. It rose on the left bank of the Waldnaab on a towering granite rock. Later the castle came to the Leuchtenberg family and finally in 1309 to the Waldsassen monastery, which let the castle fall into disrepair. The castle was a small tower castle in which a lot of solid wood was built.
