The source of the White Ernz, called "Schetzelbur", rises in the middle of the GrĂŒnewald. The source is named after the Blessed Schetzel, a hermit who lived in a cave near the source in the 12th century and quenched his thirst with the pure spring water.

The source of the White Ernz, like the source of the Black Ernz, emerges from the Luxembourg sandstone in the municipality of Niederanven, the largest and most important drinking water reservoir in Luxembourg. However, after a few meters, the stream leaves the Niederanven community behind. South of the village of Eisenborn, the stream, now called "Schetzelbaach", leaves the GrĂŒnewald in a north-easterly direction.

Not the most impressive spot but interesting to see the source of a river.
